Well renowned local high end couture brand Jovian Mandagie, showcased its latest collection Aviraya at TUDM Sungai Besi. The 'Aviraya' collection credits much of its inspiration to the 50s, the epic era of the fashion revolution.
The collection plays with bold military inspired hues of blue, brown, mustard and green. It highlights the Jovian Mandagie signature corseted Kebaya which has been given a military spirit to keep in line with the core essence of the collection.
Most of the Aviraya line up showcases embroidered laced pieces embellished with intricate beading, and fitted waist lines. Italian silk and other fancy fabrics play a focal point and French lace with modern yet classic motifs have always been a part of the Jovian Mandagie local fashion look.
“With this collection I wanted to defy the normal standards of high end couture fashion so I took the challenge of transforming conventional traditional cuts to modern eccentric pieces, this has always been part of our identity, I produce fashion that is unique but still refined”, says Jovian Mandagie.
“The main essence behind this new collection is the mixture of edgy, sexy, strong and elegant, these elements bring out the ‘warrior’ in every urban woman who chooses to rebel against the normality of boring and dull fashion,” he added.
